Kitchen Deep Cleaning
Your kitchen is subject to inspection by your local environmental health officer (EHO) from the HSE. How often your kitchen may be inspected will depend on the level of risk associated with the food you produce.
There are requirements under the Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 as amended on the hygiene of foodstuffs that you must meet. The European Communities (Hygiene of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 2006 [S.I. No. 369 of 2006 as amended] gives effect to this European Communities Regulation in Irish law.
A clean kitchen / production area is part of the Prerequisite Hygiene Requirements that you must have in place in order to comply with the above regulations.
Cleaning is required to:
- Reduce the risk of cross contamination
- To prevent food poisoning and spoilage
- To prevent pest infestation
- To ensure a safe working environment for staff

The purpose of this clean is to remove grease, carbon build up, food debris, daily dust and grime from the food production and preparation.
